Rural Counties Early Intervention Services is unique in providing specific HIV education, testing and counseling services to individuals dealing with substance abuse issues in remote areas of Gila and Pinal counties. Intervention specialists directly engage with clients in substance abuse treatment and individuals waiting to enter substance abuse treatment in an effort to increase their awareness and knowledge of HIV and high risk behavior associated with drug use including needle sharing and sexual behavior.
Funding for Rural Counties Early Intervention Services is provided by a contract with Cenpatico Behavioral Health of Arizona with funds from the Arizona Department of Health Services, Division of Behavioral Health Services.
Intervention specialists seek to contact individuals as clients currently attending, and those waiting to enter substance abuse treatment programs through one-on-one conversations, group presentations and referrals from case managers or therapists. If you or someone you know resides in Gila or Pinal Counties and are dealing directly with substance abuse please contact a Rural Counties Early Intervention specialist at (602) 307-5330, ext. 2216. If you do not have a telephone please leave a number where you can receive messages.
The Rural Counties Early Intervention Program is always free and confidential.
