Say it Straight

The Say it Straight (SIS) program strives to assist people of color as they re-enter society after incarceration; particularly relating to the prevention of substance abuse, HIV and hepatitis in ethnic communities. SIS provides access to a 16-hour behavioral intervention (broken into two, 8 hour classes) teaching participants how to reframe existing situations by utilizing new communication tools as they relate to risky sexual behavior, drug use, crime, employment and personal relationships. The goal of the Say It Straight program is to prevent the spread of HIV/Hepatitis and reduce recidivism; providing some assistance to help people avoid returning to incarceration.

Funding for the Say It Straight program is provided by the Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services Association.

Say It Straight staff seeks to engage participants through one-on-one conversations, group presentations and referrals from case managers or therapists. If you or someone you know is re-entering society after a period of incarceration or you would like more information please call (602) 307-5330, ext. 2224. If you do not have a telephone please leave a number where you can receive messages.

The Say It Straight Program free and confidential.
