Child watch is a free service for parents or guardians who are HIV positive and are accessing HIV services for themselves or their children. Child watch is vital as it removes a barrier to care and allows privacy during appointments.
Logan's Playground (LP) was founded in 2000 in honor of Logan Shaver who was the first pediatric patient in clinical trials at the Southwest Center for HIV/AIDS. Logan lost his battle with AIDS at the age of six in 1999. In 2004, LP merged with the Center and the child watch program at the Center became Logan's Playground (1997). Child Watch provides free child watch services Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m while clients attend HIV-related appointments.
