Client Services

The Southwest Center for HIV/AIDS offers wellness, behavioral health, education and clinical trials designed to help people live long and well with HIV. We are a unique, community-based clinical trials program dedicated to the research of preventive vaccines and promising therapies in the treatment of HIV and AIDS. On-site Testing

The Centers for Disease Control & Prevention recommends that all people between the ages of 13 and 65 be tested for HIV on an annual basis. the Southwest Center for HIV/AIDS hosts free, rapid HIV antibody counseling and testing every weekday.

Wellness Programs

Wellness services offer HIV-positive clients a variety of nutritional and naturopathic interventions designed to improve overall health, improve quality of life and minimize the side effects of HIV and HIV medications. Services may include nutritional counseling, acupuncture, physical manipulation, homeopathic and naturopathic supplements, vitamins and herbs and dietary recommendations.

Clinical Trials

The Southwest Center for HIV/AIDS clinical trials program is a unique community-based site as opposed to other university-based research facilities. Clinical trials are constantly enrolling as testing is done on new medications, dosing regimens, drug combinations as well as new uses for current drugs. Behavioral Health Services

Our Behavioral Health Outpatient Clinic (BHOC) is licensed with the Arizona Department of Health Services Office of Behavioral Health Licensure. The BHOC offers individual, family, couples and group counseling to HIV-positive adults with mental and/or behavioral health issues.

Support Groups

Support groups and individual counseling programs are designed to meet the diverse needs of our HIV-positive clients. Support groups help individuals develop coping strategies, deal with life challenges and develop support systems.
